Step 1: Remove Glass
To keep from breaking the precut pieces of glass, remove them from the package using an
X-acto™ Knife.
Step
2: Cut Clear Glass Base
Cut 1 piece of fusible glass 4” x 4” for the ladybug base. Note: Use any fusible glass of your choice for base. Clear was used for this project. After the tack fuse this base will be cut into a 3 1/2” circle to fit the windchime frame.
Step
3: Preparation
Clean Glass: Using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry
and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.
Clean
& Prep Kiln Shelf: Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer) or cut an
5 inch square of shelf paper.
Step
4: Decorate Base
Using just a tiny spec of Elmer's™ Glue, position the pre-cut ladybug on the glass base. Glue the dots to the top of the ladybug wings. Sprinkle red and black frit on the base as a background being careful not to get any on the ladybug.
Tip 1: It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass.
Step
5: Place Project into Kiln
Using
fingers around the outer edges of the box sides or better yet wear
latex gloves pick up and place on the kiln shelf.
Step
6: Tack Fuse
Use
the below tack fuse firing schedule.
