Tip:
You can make mosaic pieces by scoring the glass at ½” intervals and then breaking. Use mosaic nippers to create the mosaic pieces from the ½” strips.

· Step 1: Remove Glass. To keep from breaking the precut pieces of glass, remove them from the package using an X-acto knife. Use our precut glass with you mosaic tiles.

· Step 2Prepare the Back and Sides of the Wood Base Determine the best/smoothest side of the wood base. This will be the back of the mosaic mirror. Paint the back and sides of the wood base with brown acrylic paint.

Place the hook in the center of the base and trace around it with a pencil. This space will remain empty just prior to grouting.

· Step 3Waterproof the Front of the Wood Base (Mosaic Side). Mix one part Weldbond glue with one part water. Coat the unpainted side of the board with the solution. This will provide a waterproof protective barrier between the board and the mosaic piece. This process prevents the wood base from warping.

· Step 4: Attach Hanging Hardware
On the painted side of the wood base, measure approximately one inch from the top edge and continue to secure a saw tooth hanger to the wood base.

· Step 5: Glue the Mosaic Pieces
Glue the precut mosaic flowers randomly on the prepared mosaic surface with Weldbond. We cut some of the white daisy petals so they were even with the edge of the wood base. Cut grass and stems from green scrap glass and glue in place. Fill in the remaining back ground area with blue glass. After the design is complete allow the project to dry for 24 hours.

· Step 6: Attach Key Hook
Use the screws supplied with the hook to attach the hook to the base.

· Step 7: Grouting  Place the project on newspaper. Mix grout according to manufacture’s instructions. The grout should be the consistency of a thick milk shake. Spread the grout with your gloved hand and press grout into all crevices. Work the outer edges easily to form a rounded grout edge. Wait 10 minutes to allow the grout to set up.

· Step 8: Cleanup Carefully start wiping the grout with a lightly dampened sponge being careful not to pull grout out of the crevices. Rinse sponge frequently. Remember it is import the sponge be as dry as possible. After the excess grout has been removed allow the grout to dry for another 45 minutes. Using a soft cloth and 0000 steel wool, buff the glass and grout and use a razor blade to remove spots of dried glass.
