This project could be made using only glass glue.
Step 1:
Remove lady bug and black
circles of
glass. To keep from breaking the precut
pieces of glass, remove them from the package
using an X-acto knife.
|
|
Step 2: Using just a tiny spec of Elmer's™ Glue
, position
each black Lady Bug dot on the red wings. Make
sure not to position around very center where you will
be drilling the hole.
Note: (if
not fusing, use thing layer of Weldbond Glue on outer
edges and at center where you will be drilling)
Step 3: Position White Circle on Clear
Circle, centered, and add just a few tiny drops of glue
to hold the 2 pieces in place.
Note: (if
not fusing, use thing layer of Weldbond Glue on outer
edges and at center where you will be drilling)
Step 4: Clean Glass
using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent (do not submerse
or glue will release). Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of
paper or cardboard.
· Clean & Prep Kiln:
· Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
· Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
· Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf
and Shelf Paper into Kiln
Step
5: Fire the 2 assembled pieces (circle and
lady bug) in the kiln
using the chart below. (Adjust pending how many layers
of glass and if you want a full fuse. Less time if
you do not want a full fuse)

Step 6:
Drill holes in center of glass for clock to be
placed.
(See Instructions for
Glass Drilling.)
Note: (if
not fusing, allow 24 hours for Weldbond Glue to dry before
drilling)
Step 7: Using Weldbond Glue, center both
pieces of glass so holes align and then glue the
pieces together.
Note: (if
not fusing, allow 24 hours for Weldbond Glue to dry before
drilling)
Step 8: Using a ruler, mark the number
locations for the time 12 and 6 and then 3 and 9, and
finally mark evenly the other number
locations. Using
Weldbond Glue, Glue a lady bug on to glass where each
number mark has been place.
|
|
|
Step 9:
Insert clock from behind, layer the washers, clock hands
and then tighten the nut.
Step 10: Insert battery in clock and hang.
|
|
|
Note:
This clock could also be set on a stand instead of hung on
a wall. Lady bug color scheme is up to you.
You could make each section a separate color or alternate
like the ones in our finished projects.
