Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

Clean Up Supplies:

· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Detergent
· Cloth with very little lint (old T-shirt)

· Step 1: Remove Glass. To keep from breaking the precut pieces of glass, remove them from the package using an X-acto knife.

Decide how you will hang your ornament.

NOTE: If you choose the
High Temperature Wire #17:  Item# 41184  then you will need to cut and shape the wire to be placed under the project when putting into the kiln so the Glass will fuse over it.

· Step 2 - Preparation
· Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

· Clean & Prep Kiln:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

· Break Glass Noodles and Glass Stringers into small pieces to fit and set aside

· Step 3: Put Glass project together

· Use Toothpick or plastic Cocktail fork to put 3 "tiny" drops of glue and evenly distributed for Hearts, Glass Stringers and Glass noodles to adhere.

· Step 4: Note:  It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass.

· Step 5  - Place into Kiln Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

· Step 6 - Kiln Firing Process- Full Fuse

SMALL PROJECTS  ·  FULL FUSE  ·  2 LAYERS

· Step 7 - Prepare Fused Project
If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature  and it is ready to use. Use abrasives on any rough edges you need to smooth.  If you do find you need to do a lot of abrasive or use a grinder you may need to refire the finished piece to polish the edges.
