Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

Clean Up Supplies:

· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Detergent
· Cloth with very little lint (old T-shirt)

· Step 1: Remove Glass. To keep from breaking the precut pieces of glass, remove them from the package using an X-acto knife.

  Step 2 - Preparation
· Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

· Clean & Prep Kiln:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

There are 3 basic steps to prepare the glass apply the dicro slide and decals.

1. Place the glass shape on the back side of the Dicro Slide ™ and trace the shape of the circles or star.

3. Place the glass shape on the back side of the  High Fire Decal and trace the shape of the glass, 2 times.  Note: make sure you have them going the direction you want with the pattern.

Follow the instructions for soaking and applying the decals and dicro slide.  Dicro Slide goes on top of the Black or White piece and put the Hi Fire Decal on top of the clear glass.

4. After the Dicro Slide is fairly dry and not moving, set the clear with the Decal up as the top.

5. After about 30 minutes to an hour, place the circles or stars onto the clear Christmas tree and you may want to use a small drop of glue to keep them positioned.

· Break Glass Noodles into small pieces to fit and set aside.

· Step 3: Put Glass project together

· Use Toothpick or plastic Cocktail fork to put 3 "tiny" drops of glue and place noodles as you like for decoration onto tree

· Position Star over tip at top of tree so it will fuse together using a small drop of glue to hold in position.

· Step 4: Note:  It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass.

· Step 5  - Place into Kiln Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

· Step 6 - Kiln Firing Process- Full Fuse

SMALL PROJECTS  ·  FULL FUSE  ·  2 LAYERS

Process Temp/Min Desired Temp Soak Temp Action
Increase/Temp   30°F/ 18°C 1,000°F / 535°C 1 Min. Remove Vent

· Step 7 - Prepare Fused Project
If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature  and it is ready to use. Use abrasives on any rough edges you need to smooth.  If you do find you need to do a lot of abrasive or use a grinder you may need to refire the finished piece to polish the edges.
· Step 9: Finish Project

Clean glass, dry and select Jewelry Bail  color (Gold or Silver).  Apply Triolyse glue to bail and position on back of glass, centered.  It is best to wait 24 hours for a solid cure and more strength before hanging.
