· Note: Project can be done using White or Black Center hearts and any variety of decals.

· Fusible Glass Decals pick your pattern in Gold and/or Platinum to create you designs.  If you want Gold and Platinum, then you must use all High Fire Decals or patterns.  If all gold you could use the low fire but should not fire at the same time as the high fire decals. For best results do not mix high fire and low fire fusible decals.

· NOTE -Optional choice would be to use Dicro Slide ™ (Dicro Paper) instead of the decals.

· NOTE 2 - Optional Scrap Dichroic small pieces instead of decals could also be used.

FUSING SUPPLIES:

· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Detergent
· Cloth with very little lint (old T-shirt)
· Cold Polishing - (one of the following)
· Grinder 
· Abrasive Stone 
· Diamond Nail File
· 3M™ Diamond Coated Sanding Sponges

Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

Clean Up Supplies:

· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Detergent
· Cloth with very little lint (old T-shirt)

· Step 1: Remove Glass. To keep from breaking the precut pieces of glass, remove them from the package using an X-acto knife.

· Step 2 - Preparation
· Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard. 

· Clean & Prep Kiln: 
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

TIP: Dicro Slide ™ and Scrap Dichroic is less sensitive in application and can be fired the same day.

· Step 4: Note:  It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass from your fingers when using decals.

· Step 5:  Place into Kiln Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

· Step 6: Kiln Firing Process- Full Fuse

· Step 7: Firing your Fusible Glass Decals

This project used HIGH FIRE Glass Platinum Decal. Ramp up your kiln slowly while vented, until your reach 1,000 °F, then close your kiln and fire until temperature reaches 1,325 to 1,440 °F.  Ramping slowly is much better than a quick fire to allow plenty of time for burn off and venting.  Then turn off kiln and leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature

See-> HOT GLASS TIPS (for Decals): 

- Keep your decals stored in a dry place on their side and not on top of one another.

- Keep your Hi Fire Glass Decals and your Low Fire Glass Decals separately stored, perhaps in well marked envelopes.

- Mark each envelop with the colors/types as well.  Example:  Gold - Low Fire Glass Decals,  Platinum - High Fire Glass Decals, etc.

· Step 8: Prepare Fused Project
If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature  and it is ready to use. Use abrasives on any rough edges you need to smooth.  If you do find you need to do a lot of abrasive or use a grinder you may need to refire the finished piece to polish the edges. 

Clean glass, dry and select Jewelry Bail  color (Gold or Silver).  Apply Triolyse glue to bail and position on back of glass, centered.  It is best to wait 24 hours for a solid cure and more strength before hanging.
