FUSING SUPPLIES:
Item# 42017 Shelf Paper 1 square foot

· Kiln Wash or Hi-fire shelf paper
· Elmer’s White Glue
· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Liquid
· Cloth with very little lint

Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

· Step 1:  Preparation
· Slightly Grind each corner of every 4 x 4 glass piece.  This will create a nice rounded corner after fusing the glass.

Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

· Clean & Prep Kiln:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

· Break Glass Stringers into small pieces to fit and set aside

· Step 2: Prepare or Create your Madri Gras Glass
Using the clear 4 x 4 glass, lay the desired pieces of glass flakes and stringer on the clear using a very tiny spec of Elmer's Glue and let dry in place.

· Step 3: Add Glass Dragon Flies
We placed each glass dragon fly on top of the white glass for a softer full fused look and placed the clear on top before firing.  You could also place the dragon flies on top of the clear and then the glass stringers and glass frit over the dragon flies.  Either way position the dragon fly into place with very tiny specs of Elmer's glue and let dry.

Tip: If making multiple glass coasters or glass tiles, consider placing your dragon flies in different positions to create visual interest.

Tip: It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass.

· Step 4  - Place into Kiln Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

· Step 5 - Kiln Firing Process- Full Fuse

SMALL PROJECTS  ·  FULL FUSE  ·  2 LAYERS

· Step 6 - Prepare Fused Project
If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature,
· Step 7: Optional - Apply Surface Guards
Clean Glass & if using as a coaster, attach surface guards to the back of the glass dragon fly tile in each corner.
