OPTIONAL ASSEMBLY:  This project could be made using only glass glue.

Step 1: Preparation
Clean Glass: Using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard. 

Prep Mold: Apply a good coat of kiln wash to the mold set aside to dry. 
Clean & Prep Kiln Shelf: Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer) or cut an 8 inch square of shelf paper.

Prep Glass Pieces: Cut 1 piece of red COE 90 or 96 glass for base. Dimensions: 4 inches x 1 inch wide.  Grind the 4 corners slightly.  Clean the glass and dry.

Step 2:  Position Glass: 

Using just a tiny spec of Elmer's™ Glue position the white stars on the red strip of glass, alternating their positions and centered on the red glass. 

Step 3:  Apply Decal

Cut random pieces of both the platinum and gold high fire decals, apply to blue stars and leave dry overnight. 

Tip: It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges when gluing them together to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass. 

Step 4:  Place Project into Kiln: Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf and run a full fuse.

Step 5:  Tack Fuse Use the below firing schedule. After firing, if possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature and it is ready for the slump process.  Use abrasives on any rough edges you need to smooth.

Tack Fuse use the below firing schedule above. 

If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature and it is ready for the slump process.  Use abrasives on any rough edges you need to smooth. 

Step 7: Prepare Kiln for Slump Process: Take the kiln shelf out of the kiln. Using the kiln posts, set the kiln washed mold in the middle of the kiln. Place Fiber Paper over mold. Place the fused fused project on the mold.  The mold is wide enough to accommodate slumping 3 or more barrettes at the same time.

Step 8: Slump Barrette: Use the below firing schedule to slump.

Attach the Metal Barrett finding using the Triolyse glue.  Make sure the glass is clean and dry and when placing it on the center, back side.  Maximum strength is reached after 6 hours. (Read the Tips & Tricks for using Triolyse Glue)
