Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:
|
|
·
Step 1: Preparation
· Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing
Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of
paper or cardboard.
· Clean & Prep Kiln:
· Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
· Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
· Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf
and Shelf Paper into Kiln
·
Break Glass Noodles into small pieces to fit and set aside
|
·
Step 2: Cut Copper Sheet Shamrock
Cut the copper shamrock out of the copper sheet using the pattern and
scissors. Use a stylus or pencil tip to indent small dots around each of the shamrock petals. With a small drop of glue, glue the shamrock pieces to the center of the white fusible glass base.
|
|
·
Step 3: Decorate Clear Glass Top
Use Elmer’s glue to create a scalloped edge on the clear fusible glass. Make sure your scalloped edge won’t cover the copper shamrock when placed on top. Take a mixture of the green and orange frit and apply to the scalloped edge. Place clear glass top on white base.
Tip: It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass.
·
Step 4 - Place into Kiln Using Fingers around outer edges
of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex
gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf
paper/shelf. Leave a minimum of 1/2"
(13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not
touch and fuse together.
·
