Step 1: Preparation
Clean Glass: Using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent.
Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or
cardboard.
Clean & Prep Kiln Shelf: Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
or cut squares of shelf paper.
Step 2: Assemble Glass
Cut 3, 1/2 inch squares
of
Copper Cyan & Magenta Green Dicro Slide tm. Then cut
1 piece 1 1/2 inches long and 1/4 inch wide of the
Magenta Green. Soak them
20 seconds in water and position them onto the top black
layer.
Position the Clear Glass Square on
top.
Cut out a 1 1/2 inch square of the
dragonfly background decal, remove the paper cover, soak
for 20 seconds and apply to the surface of the clear
glass.
Let
sit for at least 10 minutes before moving.
Notes:
1. When using a Black Decal over Dichroic glass,
it is best to do a full fuse first so you know if the color
of the final glass is going to be too dark for the black
decal on the surface of the glass.
2. To achieve the deepest black
and crisp line detail of the
decal. Fire the glass pendant to a full fused
first and then apply the decal and fire a second time to a tack fused
at approximately 1325 degrees for a least 1 minute.
Step 3: Place Project into Kiln
Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass
project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and
place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.
