Step-By-Step Instructions & Glass How To information

Step 1 - Preparation
· Clean Glass and bail using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.
· Lay large oval onto back of dicro slide, trace it, then cut it out and set aside.

· Clean & Prep Kiln & Mold:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Step 2: Put Glass project together  (See Glass Tips & Tricks section: How to use Fusible Glass Decals)

Stack the Place clear oval, centered on top of the white oval.  Place the Dicro Slide in a small amount of clean water and using a pair of tweezers take the decal out of the water when it starts to curl about 20 seconds. Slide off of the paper backing onto the surface of the 2nd large clear oval and smooth out any air bubbles.  Stack the top clear oval with the white on top.

Let dry 10 minutes.

Step 3:  Place into Kiln Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

Step 4: Full Fuse

Step 5: Low Fire Fuse  Place the decal in a small amount of clean water and using a pair of tweezers take the decal out of the water when it starts to curl about 20 seconds. Slide off of the paper backing onto the surface of the white oval cap with the clear oval and smooth out any air bubbles.

If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature.

Step 6: Adding Jewelry Findings

Attach the metal finding using the Triolyse glue.  Make sure the glass is clean and dry and when placing it on the center, back side.  Maximum strength is reached after 6 hours. (Read the Tips & Tricks for using Triolyse Glue)
