Step 1:  Preparation
Clean Glass:  Using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

Clean & Prep Kiln Shelf: Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer) or cut squares of shelf paper.

Step 2:  Assemble Glass

Using Mosaic Glass Cutters, cut 2 chunks of orange rod.
Snap 2 piece of dark amber or green noodles for stems.
Stack 2 sets of 2 layers of white 1/4 inch squares.

Step 3:  Place Project into Kiln

Fire Orange glass chunks at a full fuse first to form balls for pumpkins.

Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.

Step 4: Full Fuse

Process Temp/Min Desired Temp Soak Temp Action

Step 5: Slump Fuse

Using Fuser's Glue flue a double layer of white 1/2 inch squares and let dry.  Then position and glue the noodles on to the top white squares. Position the Orange balls and glue into position.

Let dry at least 10 minutes before moving.

Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.

SMALL/MEDIUM PROJECTS  ·  SLUMP

Process Temp/Min Desired Temp Soak Temp Action
Increase/Temp   15°F/ 9°C 1,000°F / 538°C 1 Min. Remove Vent
Increase/Temp   Full Speed 1,430°F / 776°C 10+ or 10- Min.  Observe
Flash/Cool Highest Speed 1,100°F / 593°C 0 Min. Open & Close Lid
Hold/Temp   5°F/ 3°C 955°F / 513°C 30 min. Hold Fire
Cool/Temp   Do Nothing 100°F / 38°C N/A DO NOT LOOK

Note: If you do not get a full slump, you can ramp up another 5 degrees (never more than 20 degrees more) and never hold more than 20 minutes at any temperature.

If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature.

Step 6 - Glue Jewelry Earring Bails

Clean and dry the glass. Apply Triolyse glue to the offset bail and position on back of the glass, positioning it carefully in the center. The glue will reach its maximum strength in 6 hours.  Attach French wires after glue has reached maximum strength.
