Step-By-Step Instructions & Glass How To information

Step 1 - Preparation
· Clean Glass:  using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

· Clean & Prep Kiln:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Step 2: Prepare Glass & Apply Hi Fire Decal:
Trace the glass butterfly on the back of the decal.  Cut out and then soak it for 20 seconds in water.  Slide it off the paper backing on to the surface of the clear glass and smooth out on the outer edges.  We covered both butterflies with decals. Let dry for 10 minutes.

Place a small piece of noodle in desired color on top of clear butterfly and adhere in place with a spec of Elmer's glue.

Cut the 1/8 inch Fiber Paper in 2 rectangles that will cover the wings and position them over the wings of the black glass butterfly, leaving a far amount of the body showing so the top glass can slump down and touch the base glass.

Stack the Dichroic Butterfly on top of the clear glass making sure the butterflies line up.

Step 3:  Place into Kiln - Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.

Step 4: Kiln Firing Process- Slump Fuse
