Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

Clean Up Supplies:

· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Detergent
· Cloth with very little lint (old T-shirt)

Step 1 - Preparation
· Clean Glass:  using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

· Clean & Prep Kiln:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Step 2: Prepare Project
Place the clear plastic circle from the frame on the 4inch circle draw a circle around it.  Remove plastic circle. Draw another circle 1/2 inch further out so you now have a circle band on the clear circle.

Fill between the band with Glastac Adhesive and then sprinkle green glass fine over the adhesive.  Let dry about 10 minutes and then turn upside down, tap backside to remove excess glass fine frit.

Apply Glastac adhesive outside the green band all the way to the outer edge of the glass.  Sprinkle the white medium frit over it, lightly press into place and let dry.  Then turn upside down and tap on back of glass to remove excess white frit.

On the green band of powdered glass frit use Glastac adhesive to hold both of the small ovals in place.  Then proceed to place the green ivy leaves all the way around the green band.  Last, put a drop of Glastac onto the glass where the two red ovals meet and place the round the red 1/2 inch circle on top.

Let glass parts dry for at least 10 minutes until they do not move.

Step 3:  Place into Kiln
Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

Step 4: Kiln Firing Process- Tack Fuse

SMALL/MEDIUM PROJECTS  ·  TACK FUSE

Process Temp/Min Desired Temp Soak Temp Action
Increase/Temp   15°F/ 9°C 1,000°F / 538°C 1 Min. Remove Vent

If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature  and it is ready to use.

Step 5: Adding Easel Back, Hanger and Photo
Attached the Circle Frame with E-6000 and attach the glass hanger finding to the top backside.  Make sure the glass is clean and dry and when placing it on the center, back side.  Maximum strength is reached after 24 hours.  Use a clamp or clothes pin if you need to hold the hanger in place to keep it centered.

Use the clear insert that comes with the frame and position it over your photo. When happy with the placement, draw around the outer edge of the clear plastic circle, this will provide you a cut line to follow when cutting with your scissors.  Insert the photo into back of the Easel frame and slide latch closed.
