Step-By-Step Instructions & Glass How To information

Step 1 - Preparation
· Clean Glass:  using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

· Clean & Prep Kiln & Mold:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Step 2: Prepare Glass & Apply Dicro Decals Designs tm
Soak the Dicro Decal Design
tm for 20 seconds in water and then slide off the paper backing on to the surface of the "front side of the Yellow and Orange Maple leaves near an outer corner and remove all air bubbles.  Let dry for 10 minutes.

Stack The brown leaf on top of the amber and orange glass leaves using Fuser's Glue to hold them together.

Step 3: Add Glass Stringer
Snap the glass stringer and apply it to the amber and orange corners showing from under the dark amber (brown) leaf.  Use tiny specs of Elmer's glue to hold them in place.

Repeat with longer stringer onto the dark amber leaf.

The stringers are meant to form the veins of the leaves and add interest.  It is important that you use darker greens, Burgundy or black on the brown in order to see them after firing.

Step 4:  Place into Kiln - Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.

Step 5: Kiln Firing Process- Full Fuse  (Note: if you want more shape to the leaves, use a Tack Fuse instead of a Full Fuse)
