	Preparation

GLASS LEAF WREATH

Clean Up Supplies:

· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Detergent
· Cloth with very little lint (old T-shirt)

Step 1 - Preparation
· Clean Glass:  using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard. 

· Clean & Prep Kiln: 
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer) to shelf and mold
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf & one to drape over mold later
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Step 2 - Position Glass:  Assemble directly onto thin fire on kiln shelf. Using tiny specs of Elmer's Glue at points where leaves over lap. Alternate the colors of the leaves as positioning.

Snap glass stringers 1 long one for the center vein, and 4 others to form leaf veins.  We used Yellow stringer on Orange leaves, Amber stringer for Yellow leaves and Black stringer for Dark Amber leaves.

Step 3 - Prepare Wire:  Cut about 6 inches of wire.  Locate center at about 3 inches and create a loop and then twists the 2 ends together.

Slide the twisted end of the wire under the glass leaves where the leaves overlap.  This will create extra strength and glass to melt over the wire.

Let the entire project dry for about 20 minutes.

Step 4  - Place into Kiln: Make sure to leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.
