Step-By-Step Instructions & Glass How To information

Step 1 - Preparation
· Clean Glass:  using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard. 
· Cut thin strips of Dicro Slide tm  or use scraps that will fit onto the Glass Dolphin Precut

· Clean & Prep Kiln & Mold: 
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Step 2: Prepare Glass & Apply Dicro Slide tm: 
Soak the Dicro Slide tm for 20 seconds in water and then slide off the paper backing on the surface of the dolphin to form the desired design. Let dry for 10 minutes.

Place the dolphin on a paper plate and apply Fuser's Glue to the entire surface of the dolphin.

Sprinkle the clear glass frit over the entire surface and let it mound in the middle. Let dry for at least 20 minutes.  Then using a tooth pick run it around the edges of the dolphin to remove any excess and pat down the edges so that none is hanging over.  This will also improve the odds that you will not have to do any grinding after it is fired to remove burrs and the need to fire polish.

Step 3:  Place into Kiln - Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.

We chose this bail because it would allow the Dolphin to swing and move easily on the chain.  Put the Snap Ring onto the earring offset finding to form the pendant bail.  Clean glass and Bails well to remove any oil, dry and apply Triolyse glue to offset bail and position on back of glass, centered based upon the desired location of the decal. The glue with reach it's maximum strength in 6 hours.
