Step-By-Step Instructions & Glass How To information

Step 1 - Preparation
· Clean Glass:  using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard. 

· Place Oval on backside of Decal and trace around it with a pencil. Cut the  Decals, remove the tissue paper & set aside.
Note: It is important to follow the instructions that come with your decals! Keeping you glass free of oil from your fingers is important.

· Clean & Prep Kiln: 
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Step 2: Prepare Project for Decals
Take the Hi Fire Decal, soak in distilled water for 20 to 30 seconds. Slide and apply to the back side of the clear glass base.  Smooth out any air bubbles..  (Read the Glass Tips & Tricks for application)   Let dry for 20 minutes.

Step 3: Painting the Glass  Use fine or angle brushes apply your paint colors to the back side of the clear glass using the decal as an outline and painting within the lines. Note: Dark colors used on a black background may not display.

Let dry for at least 20 minutes before moving piece. 

Step 4: Put Glass project together  Flip over the clear glass making sure that the decal side is up and then place on top of the black glass base.  Make sure the clear cap is aligned with the black glass base.

Step 5:  Place into Kiln - Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.  

Step 6: Kiln Firing Process- Full Fuse

Hold/Temp   5°F/ 3°C 955°F / 513°C 10 min. Hold Fire
Cool/Temp   Do Nothing 100°F / 38°C N/A DO NOT LOOK

Step 7: Finish Project -

Clean glass, dry and apply Triolyse glue to bail and position on back of glass, centered. The glue with reach it's maximum strength in 6 hours.
