Step 3: Apply
Decal
Soak the decal in water for 20 seconds,
slide onto surface of clear cap. Make sure all air has
been removed.
Step 4: Place into Kiln Using Fingers around outer edges
of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex
gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf
paper/shelf. Leave a minimum of 1/2"
(13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not
touch and fuse together.
Tip: This
project used the GOLD LOW FIRE Glass Decals. Use Fire
Schedule below but remember when ramping up your
kiln for any decal to vent, until your reach 1,000 °F,
then close your kiln and complete the firing
schedule.
Special
Note: When using Low Fire Gold Decals they do fire better
at lower temperatures,
1,075 to 1,140 °F.
So trying to only do one firing to a full fuse may not
produce the quality desired for a Low Fire Gold
Decal. You may want to do a second firing
versus trying to fire everything at once during a Full
Fuse. We recommend doing a test fire for full fuse to
see if you like the results. If you do not get good
results due to the higher temperatures during a Full Fuse,
then you will have to apply the Low Fire Gold decal and
fire a second time, ramping up slowly to
1,075 to 1,140 °F
for a better result.
