Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:
Clean Up Supplies:
· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Detergent
· Cloth with very little lint (old T-shirt)
Step 1 - Preparation
· Clean Glass:
using Alcohol or Dish Washing
Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of
paper or cardboard.
· Clean & Prep Kiln:
· Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
· Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
· Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf
and Shelf Paper into Kiln
|
Step 2: Prepare Project
Place Large long oval centered on the glass towards
the bottom but leave enough room to place the small long
oval horizontal across one end and still leaving at
least 3/8 to 1/2 inch from the edge.
Cut off
1/3 of each of the largest end of the tear drops to form
the arms.
Cut the heart and the last small long oval in half.
Use tiny specs of Elmer's glue to hold the following
parts in place:
- Position the 2 halves of the heart with the curved
side facing downward to form the largest portion of the
claws and the halves of the small long oval with the
curved side facing upward to form the upper portion of
the claw.
- Lay the longest parts of the tear drops over the body
and the largest portion of the heart halves for the
arms.
While the glue is still wet move the parts around until
you are happy with the design and leaving no piece be
more than 3/8 to 1/2 inch from the edge of the clear
cirlce.
Let parts dry for at least 10 minutes until they do not
move.
|
Step
3: Add Enhancements
Using dark red, brown or a dark shade of stringers.
Snap them into pieces and using a small drop of Elmer's
glue give the body some veins, add antennas, and the
smaller legs·
Let parts dry for at least 10 minutes until
they do not move. |
|
Step 4: Place into Kiln
Using Fingers around outer edges
of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex
gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf
paper/shelf. Leave a minimum of 1/2"
(13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not
touch and fuse together.
