Step-By-Step Instructions & Glass How To information
|
|
Step 1: Preparation - Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing
Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of
paper or cardboard.
Clean & Prep Kiln:
· Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
· Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
· Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf
and Shelf Paper into Kiln
Prep Mold: Apply a good coat of kiln
wash to the mold, set aside to dry.
|
Step 2: Apply Paint - Drop Blue paint onto surface of clear glass and use a
damp sponge brush use a straight up and down motion, dab
the paint over the entire surface.
Tip: Make sure you sponge is moist so the paint will be
applied as a thin layer, almost like a water color
application. Let dry about 10 minutes.
Lay the
Doves on the glass surface at least an inch from any
edge. Once you are happy with the location you
will then know where you want to apply the white paint
to form clouds.
Drop Whites paint onto surface of glass and use a damp
sponge brush use a straight up and down motion, dab the
paint over the entire surface.
Tip: Make sure you sponge is moist, you want the paint
to be thicker in some areas so let dry and repeat until
you satisfied with the cloud effect. You may find
that you need to clean your sponge brush throughout the
application of the white to avoid any blue mixing to
much with the white. Let dry about 10 minutes. |
|
Step 3: Position Doves - You can place them on the wet paint but should not try
to move them or the paint will come off or you can wait
until you place the Night light painted glass base in
the kiln and the paint is dry to position your doves. |
|
Step 4: Full Fuse - Tip: It is important to note
that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by
the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the
surface of the glass.
Place on top of the kiln shelf paper/shelf and full fuse.
