Step 1 - Preparation
Clean Glass: Using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

Clean & Prep Kiln Shelf: Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer) or 7 inch square of shelf paper.

Clean & Prep Kiln Shelf: Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer) to the mold.

Step 2 – Full Fuse Plate Base
Using a tiny drop of glue, glue both 6” white glass squares together and place on shelf paper or prepared kiln shelf. Place in kiln and full fuse.

Flash/Cool Highest Speed 1,100°F / 590°C 0 Min. Open & Close Lid
Hold/Temp   5°F/ 3°C 955°F / 513°C 10 min. Hold Fire
Cool/Temp   Do Nothing 100°F / 38°C N/A DO NOT LOOK

If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature.

 

Step 3 - Assemble Hearts on Plate
Using small drops of glue position the hearts and glue as shown above. Place project on shelf paper or prepared kiln shelf. Place project in kiln and tack fuse.

Step 4 – Place Project into Kiln for Slump

If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature. Place mold on small kiln posts to it is elevated slightly in the kiln. This allows for proper air flow around the mold during the slumping process. Place project on mold and slump using the below schedule.

Hold/Temp   5°F/ 3°C 955°F / 513°C 30 min. Hold Fire
Decrease/Temp   3°F/ 2°C 750°F / 400°C 1 min. DO NOT LOOK
Cool/Temp   Do Nothing 100°F / 38°C N/A DO NOT LOOK
