FUSING SUPPLIES:
Item# 41238 7 3/4 inch Rimmed Plate Mold
Item# 41340 Adhesive Glastac
Item# 42017 Shelf Paper 1 square foot

Options:
1) DEEPER SLUMP: If you want to obtain a deeper slump from your mold with your dish plate you will need to build up the out edges of the mold using
Item# 41191 Fiber Paper 1/8 inch thick
Turn the mold upside down on the fiber paper and trace around the outer edges with a pencil and cut out.  Press into the mold to determine an edge from the imprint to cut out the center.  Then place the fiber Paper ring over the lip of the mold.  Repeat a 2nd time if you need more depth.  If you are worried about too much texture on the back of the dish, lay a ring of thin fire over it. If using more than one piece to complete the ring it is important to cut the edges to meet tightly against each other. (Example Picture above)

2) ASH TRAY: If you want to make an Ash Tray out of this piece, you will need to create the indentations during the slumping stage.  Using the instructions from option 1 cut rims of 1/8 Inch Fiber paper but leave not more than a 1/2 in gap between each piece where the center side of the glass would be positioned over the gap.  Then as the glass slumps into the plate mold, each side will slump into the gap creating a resting place for the cigarette.

Other Supplies:
·
Kiln Wash or H-fire shelf paper
· Elmer’s White Glue
· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Liquid
· Cloth with very little lint

Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

Step 1:  Preparation
Cut Glass: Cut in half the 1 inch white ovals, the 1 of the 1/2 inch white circles.

Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

Clean & Prep Kiln:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Prep Mold: Apply a good coat of kiln wash to the mold, set aside to dry.

Cut out desired designs from the Black cat Decals and set aside.

Step 2: Assemble Glass

Using Glastac Adhesive on the back of all glass pieces:

Center the 4 inch black circle on to the white 6 x 6 inch glass.

Position the 2 Black Tear Drops over the edges at the top of the 4 inch black circle to form the ears, point side outward.

Position the 2 halves of the ovals to form the inside of the ears, matching the edges of the inside of the the larger 4 inch black circle under the tear drops.

Working your way down the face, placing the whites of the eyes (1 inch long white ovals at a horizontal angle and then slant them slightly).  The pupils for the eyes, inside, are made from 2 snaps of green noodles, one slightly longer than the other. Positioning the longer one towards the outside edge.  Then position the small white circle for the nose and the 1/2 of the 1/2 inch white circle at a slant  to form the mouth.

Lastly, snap equal lengths of the glass stringers which fit most of the width of the face from the nose to the out edge of the large black cirlce.  We used a white color but any light color will work just as well.  Positioned 3 pieces on each side of the nose on an upward angle.

Let dry for 20 minutes or until dry enough the pieces will not move.

Step 3: Apply Decals
Remove tissue cover off the decals.
Soak each of cat decal design for 20 to 30 seconds in clean water. Slide each onto the surface of the white glass randomly as desired making sure that they lay flat with no air bubbles.
Step 4: Full Fuse

Place the prepared glass square into kiln onto kiln paper. It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass and make sure to leave at least 1/2 inch spacing between pieces.
