Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

Clean Up Supplies:

· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Detergent
· Cloth with very little lint (old T-shirt)

Step 1:  Preparation
· Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

· Clean & Prep Kiln:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Step 2: Put Glass project together

· Use Toothpick or plastic Cocktail fork to put a "tiny" drop of Elmer's glue to adhere the two parts of the Yin Yang and the clear cap glass together. You do not need to use the glue but if you are making many pieces of fused glass jewelry at the same time it will make you life easier when moving or positioning them in the kiln.

· Position each piece of glass evenly on top of each other and let sit for a few minutes.

Cut out designs from decal and soak in distilled water for 20 to 30 seconds. Slide and apply to the front side of the glass.  Smooth out any air bubbles and make sure to align with the black and white seams for the glass Yin Yang.
(Read the Glass Decal's Tips & Tricks for application)   Let drive for 20 minutes.

Step 3:  Place into Kiln
Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

Step 4: Kiln Firing Process- Full Fuse

Process Temp/Min Desired Temp Soak Temp Action

If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature  and it is ready to use. Use abrasives on any rough edges you need to smooth.  If you do find you need to do a lot of abrasive or use a grinder you may need to refire the finished piece to polish the edges.
Step 5: Finish Project -

Clean glass, dry and apply Triolyse glue to bail and position on back of glass, centered. The glue with reach it's maximum strength in 6 hours.
