Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

Step 1:  Preparation
Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

Clean & Prep Kiln:
    Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Prep Mold: Apply a good coat of kiln wash to the mold, set aside to dry.  Make sure wholes are open.

Step 2: Assemble Glass

Take Pattern and trace it on your White and Clear Glass.  Cut out glass and grind to fit.

Option 1 (Using scraps): We used scraps of Confetti glass. We laid out the scraps to make sure they would cover the pattern with some over lap.  Then traced the pattern section on to each scrap and cut.  We only ground the edges that were on the outside pattern form.

Then we used some dots of Elmer's Glue and as each piece was firmly in place laid the next piece down, repeating the Elmer's glue dot.  It is ok for the glass to overlap some.  Add Clear frit over any seam area.

Option 2 (Using Clear Sheet): Cut the clear glass to fit the pattern.  Apply small specs of Elmer's glue to hold it in place to the White base.  Then sprinkle the flakes onto the clear and using tiny specs of Elmer's glue position the glass noodles.

Break up Red Glass Stringers or Glass Noodles and place randomly over the entire piece. Tip: If using stringers make mini Xs signs to form more of a fused red dot. You could also use red frit.

Tip:  Make sure that you only using Elmer's glue near the edge of any cut  seam so it will burn off without leaving any residue.

Tip: It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass.

Step 3:  Place into Kiln Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or  wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Make sure to leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

Step 4: Kiln Firing Process- Full Fuse
(NOTE: If you are using Option 1, Scraps of glass overlapped with clear frit to seal gaps.  We recommend the slowest full fuse program your kiln offers.  The slower the better to allow any air to escape and keep from trapping any bubbles. The Full Fuse chart below is a fairly fast ramping and will fine for Option 2 above.)

If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature.

Step 5 - Prepare for Slump Process:
Take the kiln shelf out of the kiln. Using the kiln posts, set the kiln washed mold in the middle of the kiln. Place Clean Glass project on the mold and slump fuse.
