Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

Clean Up Supplies:

Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Detergent
Cloth with very little lint (old T-shirt)

Step 1:  Preparation of Glass
Clean all Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

- Use your scissors cut out strips of Dicro Slide for the edges of the wings.

- Use your scissors cut out Zebra Decal for the Halo.

- Cut the large football in half length wise to form the bangs and top of hair.
- Cut the Dark Amber Circle in half for the pony tails.
- Cut 1/3rd of the long length of the Large Light Amber circle to form the Halo.
- Cut the White Tear Drops in half, keep the rounded ends to form the hands.
- Cut your scrap glass to decorate and define the skirt.  Make sure the glass is at least 1/4 inch from any edge so skirt will hold it's shape.

Using a tiny spec of Elmers Glue:
- Attach the small white oval to the large white oval for head. Center it.
- Attach the Halo just above the small white oval.  You may need to support it with another piece of glass where it hangs over the large white oval temporarily until the glue has dried.
- Attach the two half dark amber circles to form the pony tails

When dry flip over the Large Oval.

Using a tiny spec of Elmers Glue:
- Attach the small white oval to the large white oval for head. Center it.
- Attach the large football at the top to form the top of the head and bangs. The ends will hang over the large white oval.  When it is fired it will drape over.

Set aside and let dry.

Using a tiny spec of Elmers Glue:
- Attach the small white long ovals to the top corners of the Shell to form the forearms
- Slide the round ends of each half of a tear drop under the ends of the small long ovals for form praying hands.
- Attach the head to the top center of the Shell glass.  The small white oval under it should touch the top center of the Shell glass.

Set aside and let dry.

Step 2:  Preparation of Mold & Kiln

Clean & Prep Kiln:
    Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

Prep Mold:
Apply a good coat of kiln wash to the mold, set aside to dry
Cut 1/8 inch shelf paper, 2 layers to fill recess on back of spoon mold.
Cut a piece to fit over the spoon portion of the mold.

Note: Ours was previously used, sometimes you can use it more than once.

Step 3:  Paint design
Using Enamel Paints, Apply to form facial features or to decorate the dress or hair.  We - gave facial features
- a collar & matching red ribbons in the hair
- used the white to give definition under and above each arm
- Mixed white red and brown to give flesh tone to the hands
- used brown to give definition to the hair

Step 4:  Preparation of Wings & Halo
Using the Gold glassline paint, we painted the back side of the clear wings using a fan brush with sweeping curves to give motion to them.  On the front side we soaked the Dicro Slide for 20 to 30 sections and applied to the edges of the wings.

Soak the zebra decal and apply to front side of the halo.
(See Glass Tips & Tricks section: How to use Fusible Glass Decals)

Step 5: Full Fuse

NOTE:  You can applied Elmer's glue and attach the wings to the back of the body prior to full fusing or tack fuse them after the fuse fuse and prior to slumping.

It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass.

Place Thin Fire Kiln paper over the entire mold and  on top of the kiln shelf.  Make sure that you have only the skirted area over the actual wide spoon and the rest centered over the spoon handle.

If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature  and it is ready to use. Clean and it is ready.

Note: If you want to hang in a window as a suncatcher, you will need to attach 2 bails, one to the tip of each wing.  If hanging as an ornament, you can attach one finding to the center of the halo.

Step 8: Adding Jewelry Findings
Attach the glass hanger finding to the top backside of heart using the Triolyse glue.  Make sure the glass is clean and dry and when placing it on the center, back side.  Maximum strength is reached after 6 hours. (Read the Tips & Tricks for using Triolyse Glue)
