Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

· Step1 - Preparation
· Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

· Cut out Black Decal Design & set aside.
Note: It is important to follow the instructions that come with your decals! Keeping you glass free of oil from your fingers is important.

· Clean & Prep Kiln:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

· Step 2: Put Glass project together

· Apply the Red and yellow glass paint to the white base using a brush to blend as desired.  Note that we left some area white.  Leave the paint dry, 20 to 30 minutes, and you can use a toothpick as a tool to remove any paint with the point or the side of it.

· Soak the decal for 25 to 45 seconds and slide if off onto the surface of the clear glass cap.  Make sure to smooth out any air bubbles.  Let the decal dry for at least 30 minutes, best over night.

· Position the clear on top of the painted white base, evenly.

· Step 3:  Place into Kiln Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

· Step 4: Kiln Firing Process- Full Fuse

SMALL PROJECTS  ·  FULL FUSE  ·  2 LAYERS

Process Temp/Min Desired Temp Soak Temp Action
Increase/Temp   30°F/ 18°C 1,000°F / 535°C 1 Min. Remove Vent

· Step 5: Prepare Fused Project
If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature  and it is ready to use. Use abrasives on any rough edges you need to smooth.  If you do find you need to do a lot of abrasive or use a grinder you may need to refire the finished piece to polish the edges.

· Step 6: Adding Jewelry Findings

This project uses a Gold Jewelry Bail which is glued to the back of the pendant using Triolyse glue.  Note it is important to wait 6 hours for full binding of the glue before cleaning up and residue or wearing.
