· Elmer's™ Glue
· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Detergent
· Cloth with very little lint (old T-shirt)

Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

· Step 1: Cut strips of System 96 Stripe glass for Pendant 1 1/2 x 3/4 inch wide and 2 at 3/4 x (3/8 up to 1/2) inch wide for the earrings.

Note: You may wish to cut clear glass for bases if you feel the Stripe glass is not thick enough.  If you do, we would suggest clear thin to keep the weight of the finished jewelry comfortable for wearing.

· Step 2:  Preparation
· Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

· Clean & Prep Kiln:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

· Step 3: Prepare Project for Fusing
Using a small spec of Elmer's glue place the clear caps on each of the black circles and if you have cut some clear to be used with the strips, blue the strips of stripes on top of the clear rectangles.

Note: We cut some very thin strips of dichroic Siprit glass from the tranparent portions. We glued them with the dichroic side against the clear caps of the round pieces, centered.

· Step 4:  Place into Kiln Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass to avoid finger oil or prints on the  project (better yet wear latex gloves), pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

· Step 5: Kiln Firing Process- Full Fuse

SMALL PROJECTS  ·  FULL FUSE  ·  2 LAYERS

Process Temp/Min Desired Temp Soak Temp Action
Increase/Temp   30°F/ 18°C 1,000°F / 535°C 1 Min. Remove Vent
Increase/Temp   Full Speed 1,400°F / 815°C 10+ or 10- Min.  Observe
Flash/Cool Highest Speed 1,100°F / 590°C 0 Min. Open & Close Lid
Hold/Temp   5°F/ 3°C 955°F / 513°C 10 min. Hold Fire
Cool/Temp   Do Nothing 100°F / 38°C N/A DO NOT LOOK

· Step 6: Prepare Fused Project
If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature  and it is ready to use. Use abrasives on any rough edges you need to smooth.  If you do find you need to do a lot of abrasive or use a grinder you may need to refire the finished piece to polish the edges.
· Step 7: Adding Jewelry Findings

Attach the metal findings using the Triolyse glue.  Make sure the glass is clean and dry and when placing it on the center, back side.  Maximum strength is reached after 6 hours. (Read the Tips & Tricks for using Triolyse Glue)

Clean your glass and dry it. This project uses a Silver Jewelry Bail which is glued to the back of the pendant using Triolyse glue.  (Above) The earrings are using Pierced Earring Discs with loops. Making sure to leave the loops hang below the glass edge so that Drop loops can be attached later. Repeat the process for the Drop Loops on the back of the Striped rectangles, making sure they are centered.

Attached the drop loop on the back of the rectangle and the drop loop from the earring post with a single jumpring for each earring.

Note: The earrings are using Pierced Earring Reinforce Discs.  Glass earrings can be heavier than most earrings.  A single layer glass will not necessarily require earring reinforce discs but 2 layers and a glass dangle would require reinforce discs to keep the hearing laying nicely on the ear and not to sag.
