Shelf Paper 1 square foot
· Elmer’s White Glue
· Rubbing Alcohol, Dish Washing Liquid
· Cloth with very little lint

Small Fused Project step-by-step instructions:

· Step 1:  Preparation
- Clean Glass using Alcohol or Dish Washing Detergent. Then dry and set aside on a clean piece of paper or cardboard.

- Using a tiny spec of Elmer’s Glue position the clear top to the white base. We recommend only placing glue specs close to outer edges so it can burn off easily and not run the risk of being captured between two piece of glass.

· Clean & Prep Kiln:
    · Apply Kiln Wash (Shelf Primer)
    · Cut Shelf Paper to fit shelf
    · Place Kiln Shelf Supports, Shelf and Shelf Paper into Kiln

· Step 2: Prep Hi Temp Wires

Cut both wires (fused to glass to allow easy hanging) the same length.  Bend all wires to make hanging loops with straight ends that will be fused between 2 layers of glass. Using a small piece of white glass and your prepared wire use some tiny specs of Elmer's White glue to position them on the back of the foot. (the white glass acts as a cover so only the loop will be seen from the front or back.

· Step 3: Full Fuse

Tip: It is important to note that you need to make sure to touch all glass pieces by the outer edges to avoid finger oil or prints on the surface of the glass.

Place on top of the kiln shelf paper/shelf and full fuse.

If possible, leave the kiln sit unopened until the next day so your project has had plenty of time to anneal back to room temperature.

· Step 4: Apply Glassline fusible Paint
-
Apply the Fusible paint with a brush or tip to the top side of the clear glass foot to form the toenails. It is better to apply thin layers and repeat the process between drying if needed. You can easily clean off any specs or shape the painted toenails by waiting until the fusible glass pain has dried and using the wooden tooth pick to remove anything you don't want.

· Step 5: Apply Decals
-
Apply the Decals to the top side of the clear glass foot.

Glass Tips & Tricks section: How to use Fusible Glass Decals)

Cut each letter from the decals leaving a little white edge.  Place 1 or 2 pieces of the decals at a time, in a small amount of clean water and using a pair of tweezers take the decal out of the water when it starts to curl.  Using a tooth pick, hold slide the decal of the paper back and position on the glass where you want it. It is important to remove any air from under the decal.  Some people like to use a squeegee but if you use too much water the decal may slide around (if yes blot with the corner of a paper towel)  You can also use the side of your tooth pick to smooth out the decal.  Let dry completely, over night is preferable, before the final firing. Even the smallest amount of moisture can steam the decal from the glass surface, resulting in a partial transfer.

Note:  Make sure you are lining up the letters in a straight line and they are evenly spaced.

· Step 6: Firing your Fusible Glass Decals

This project used the Low Fire Glass Decals. Ramp up your kiln slowly while vented, until your reach 1,000 °F, then close your kiln and fire according the the full fusing schedule below.  Ramping slowly is much better than a quick fire to allow plenty of time for burn off and venting.

Using Fingers around outer edges of the fusible glass project or better yet wear latex gloves, pick up and place the project on the kiln shelf paper/shelf.   Leave a minimum of 1/2" (13 mm) space between each project to ensure they do not touch and fuse together.

· Step 7: Kiln Firing Process- Low Fire Decal Fuse
