The A Sanborn Corporation is celebrating our 10 year
anniversary serving the art glass community!
We have decided the best way to celebrate was to do
something for our future and future generations to come. So
we are going green and taking big steps to
become an earth friendly corporation! We can't
wait to tell you all about it!
Our sister company,
Sanbornwebdesigns.com (where we hosting the Glass Art
Patterns website) took the first giant step for our company
by setting up new
servers that are over one third more energy efficient AND are 100%
Wind powered. 130% power is generated and the extra
30% of the power is used to towards power and cooling for the datacenter.
Left over power is used as wind credits that are
invested back into renewable energy projects! So
we are truly going GREEN!
Glass Art Patterns is now taking their turn to
contribute and is in the process of converting our product
packaging. (see new labels on left). Like most
companies we used the polyethylene film zip lock bags
which are petroleum based product and can take from 10 to
100 years to decompose!
We are now starting to use an Eco Clear Bag
which is compostable and a sustainable alternative to
traditional packaging!
These Clear Bags use EarthFirst® PLA film from Ingeo™ that
is certified compostable by the Biodegradable Products
Institute (BPI) and DIN Certco under ASTM 6400 and EN 13432.

USPS RECYCLED CORRUGATED BOXES:
For over 3 years Glassartpatterns.com has used USPS Recycled
corrugated shipping boxes. They are are made from 100% post
consumer recycled materials and are also recyclable.
We use Click-N-Ship so we do not have to make
a special trip to the post office. And since the postal
delivery person comes to our offices already he brings our
eco-friendly boxes and envelopes and he takes the shipments
at the same time!
By teaming up with an eco-friendly business we
are not just saving time but we are also complimenting our
eco-friendly goals by reducing the fossil fuel use in our
daily business activities, i.e. we are reducing our carbon
footprint!
